The below table will give you a better perspective in how short a time period some teams lasted, while how long a duration others called KC home.   Also note what historical events happened during a teams playing years.  What teams were playing when you were born?  Note some popular team nicknames have been used more than by one team......Blues, Royals, and Steers.

In 1900, Ban Johnson changed the name of his small
 ‘Western League’ to the ‘American League’ in
hope of adding additional cities to his league. Six cities, Boston, Detroit, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Chicago and St. Louis agreed to form baseball's American League.
Major hurricane ravages Galveston, TX, with 6-8,000 dead.
Jazz music develops in New Orleans.
