After 30 years in the RDF, Colonel Jeffrey Edward Blake Stuart is ready to retire.   However, the RDF is not quite ready to let him go.   He's got to form one more squadron.   There are a few problems; he doesn't know where he's going to find the pilots, the Veritechs, or the time.
Colonel Stuart cleans up a few loose ends and heads for the Officers' Club.   There he meets his wife's
sister who's currently a Maintenance Officer for Skull Squadron.   She introduces him to a couple more young ladies who just
might be interested in his squadron.   Meanwhile, members of FOX Squadron take in a local watering hole in an attempt to
teach the Zentraedi Ona Parino what's so special about guys.   It doesn't turn out the way they'd hoped.
FOX Squadron gets a new Maintenance Officer; Jeff's sister-in-law.   Jeff's wife reveals
the results of her 'vision quest'.   Ona has a run-in with one of the new squadron members.
The Fox sisters find another pilot but she's not all that willing.
Jeff's day starts out strange and goes down hill from there.   Liz Littlebear makes her
calamitous entrance, the shy Mary Cook-Lynn reports for duty, and Anne Twotree becomes the final FOX.
This chapter's got it all: Chicks with guns, lots of skin, and a couple of fights.   What more could you want?
More strange twists and turns as the squadron begins to
pull together. Jeff, however, is unsure of their unusual
methods. They're now getting the supplies they need - and
then some. Retrieving a flight of Veritechs, they almost
lose a pilot. This one's got strange alliances, odd
friendships, and a very surprising end to their day.
The squadron gets an unusual office staff.
The Fox sisters show how not to fly a Veritech. Ona teaches them
how to play Tat'Genoh. Jeff is told the squadron will be activated
almost two weeks early. They're not ready. Still, things
have a way of working out if you just believe in the right people.
At the activation ceremony, they name themselves FOX Squadron - RDF.
Nightmares haunt members of FOX Squadron but none worse
than Karen Crowkiller. Her experiences in the Amazon are the key to her
hatred of Ona Parino. The others have to find out what happened before
she slips over the edge into madness. Only Liz Littlebear, who hides a
secret from her own past, can help Karen. In the mean time, their
supplies arrive, Kay and Gail plan a party, the GMP show up, and Colonel
Stuart checks out the new Ozark Base Club. Just another day in the
Ozarks.
The squadron's first mission doesn't turn out as well as
expected. An old friend has to die but the reason why is
surprising. Katherine faces the awful of truth about flying with a
combat squadron. Annie relives a painful past.
