Where do I vote?

Wards 1 and 2 vote at Old Mission United Methodist Church at 5519 State Park Road.  Wards 3 and 4 vote at Indian Hills Middle School at 6400 Mission Road.

You may register to vote at City Hall, any Johnson County Public Libraries, the Johnson County Election Office, 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, Kansas 66061, or on-line at www.jocoelection.org.

In which ward do I live?

The City is divided into four wards.  Ward 1 includes the portion of the City lying east of the centerline of Falmouth Road and from the centerline of 53rd Street to the centerline of State Park Road.

Ward 2 begins at the intersection of 59th Street and Roe Avenue, then east along the centerline of 59th Street to the centerline of Mission Road; then north along the centerline of Mission Road to the City limits; then west, southwest, and south along the City limits to 59th Street.

Ward 3 begins at the intersection of Mission Road and State Park Road, then east on State Park Road to the City limits; then south following the City limits to 63rd Street; then west on 63rd Street to Mission Road; then north on Mission Road to State Park Road.

Ward 4 includes the entire City south of the centerline of 59th Street and west of the centerline of Mission Road.

Do I need to license my cat and dog?

Cats are not licensed in Fairway, but residents are limited to no more than three cats.  Dogs must be licensed by March 31 of every year and must have a current rabies vaccination good through December 31 of the current calendar year. No more than two dogs are allowed.  Permission for a third dog must be requested from the City Council.  Call City Hall at 913-262-0350 if you need further information.

Do I need an intrusion alarm permit for my home?

Yes, all residential alarms must be licensed with the Police Department.  There is a one-time fee of $10.00.  You may contact the Police Department at 913-262-2364.

Almost all work done in the City requires a building permit.  Please contact City Hall at 913-262-0350 for details and fees.

When are the City Council Meetings?

City Council meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Fairway City Hall, 5252 Belinder.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.  Meeting agendas are available the preceding Friday at City Hall.

What is a House Watch?

The Police Department will provide extra patrol when you are out of town.  Information will be obtained from you regarding who should be contacted in case of an emergency.  Please call the Police Department at 913-262-4607 to ask for a house watch.

No, permits are not required, but the City recommends having no more than two sales per year.
