We are members of the Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline, the official rescue organization of the Australian Shepherd Club of America. We also work with
rescuers from other organizations.

Our goal is to place Aussies into loving and life-long lasting homes.
We rescue and place Aussies into carefully screened and approved homes.
An adoption agreement must be signed before placing one of our program dogs.
We carefully screen all dogs before accepting them into our program and will not accept a dog that is aggressive with people. All ARPH program dogs are given vet care, updated on all vaccinations and are spayed or neutered before going to a new home. The only exception to the above is with puppies too young to spay or neuter
!!

We work with many different people to help find and place Aussies in need of a new home. We are always looking for people who can help in many ways. Fostering a homeless Aussie is one way, making phone calls or evaluating dogs and doing home checks are other ways. Donating supplies, dog food, or whatever you can think of is always welcomed!  ARPH is a not for profit organization that has 501(3)(c) status, so some donations are tax deductible.  Please check additional ARPH fundraisers under our Links for additional ways you can support Aussie Rescue.

You may contact us either through ARPH at 1-877-ARPH-779 (1-877-277-4779) or email us at:

Kansas  (Greater KC area) -                 pgl@kc.rr.com

We are volunteers, but will get back to you as soon as possible.

***We are always needing volunteer's - especially to foster dogs as the need arises!  If you would like  to volunteer - please contact us with any questions of how you could help, ideas, etc.

Can you help with transportation?  Taking dogs to new homes picking dogs up from shelters?  If so, please join the Aussie Canine Underground Railroad.  We could use your help in any geographical area.  Click here

A potential adopter should be aware of how the dog is being featured on the website because that will determine the procedures for adopting the dog. In addition to the ARPH program dogs we also list other Aussies and Aussie mixes needing a home (i.e.. from a shelter, from a national rescue group, from an owner referral, etc.).

ARPH / RESCUE DOGS

If the dog is being sponsored by ARPH or a national rescue organization, please contact the local rescue representative that is listed for the particular dog. These dogs have been either rescued from a shelter or other crisis situation and they are being fostered. Each rescue organization is different and the adoption requirements are unique so it's best to contact the rescue representative directly.

SHELTER DOGS

If an Aussie is located at a shelter, you should contact the shelter immediately. The clock is ticking in these situations and time is critical to the welfare of the dog. You would be required to follow the shelter's adoption process. The adoption fee is based on the individual shelter. As a potential adopter make sure that the dog you are interested in will match your lifestyle.  While we can not guarantee that the dog is still available, we will try to keep the shelter dogs as up to date as possible.

PRIVATE REFERRAL

There are many instances that an owner can no longer keep their dog (i.e. medical problems, divorce, moving, etc.). Owners contact Aussie rescue as a means to help find their dog a good home. We act as a referral agent only. You will find instructions on how to adopt this dog on the webpage featuring the dog.  These dogs are usually remain in the owners home until a new home can be found. Any adoption resulting from this listing is a matter solely between the current owner and potential adopter.
