216. Eldon Harold Johnsmeyer

Eldon H. "Johnny" Johnsmeyer passed away at 92 years of age on Thursday, Jan 28, 1999, at Waterford Skilled Living Center in Spokane, Washington. He attended the Univ of Kansas, and received a degree in business from the business college. He was first employed in 1927 by Pheonix Utility, a subsidiary of Idaho Power. He moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where he married Meril Byrom in 1934.


219. Marvin Elmer Richter

Initially lived in Blue Rapids. Then, moved to Circleville in 1951 where he was a farmer and stockman. Died from an apparent heart attack.


Gladys Ruth Auchard

Ruth worked for many years in Riley County hospitals and Wesley Hospital in Wichita, reitring in 1965. She was a member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church. Erna Bisig wrote on her passing, "She was a wonderful person. Raised two fine boys."


220. Elmer Laurence Richter

Farmed in May Day community until retiring in 1988 when they moved to Clay Center.


222. Alta Mae Richter

Had a stroke on Dec 15, 2001 and died a little over a week later.


Franklin C Bulk

A farmer, hew was a custodian at Riley County High School, where he had driven a school bus for 23 years before retiring in 1982. He also had driven an Agin Transportation Agency bus for eight years. He was a member of Leonardvill United Methodist Church.


223. Hazel Maxine Richter

Graduated from Randolph High School. Attended Emporia State Teachers College, and then, taught community schools for four years. This was followed by obtaining a degree from Westmar College in LaMars, Iowa, which prepared her to becoma a missionary teacher. Whe taught sat rural schools in Riley and Pottawatomie Counties. After spending nine years at the Red Bird Mission at Beverly, Kentucky, she returned to Randolph, Kansas, to be married and become a farmer's wife.

Hazel was a member of the Swede Creek United Methodist Church. She loved music and shared her talents by singing in the choir and small groups. She was church organist for many years. She also taught piano to many young people in the community. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Blue Valley Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars in Randolph. She enjoyed quilting as a hobby and shared this talent with friends and neighbors. She was a talented and loving homemaker, wife and mother.
