Jim and Elaine (Dad and Mom) are both high school librarians. Jim is the librarian at Truman High School in nearby Independence, Mo. Elaine is the librarian at Kansas City School District's Lincoln College Prep Academy. Jamie, the oldest of our two daughters, is a pediatric nurse. Julie, our youngest, is an English teacher.

We love to travel. Fortunately our adult daughters can still occasionally travel with us. Last summer Dad and Mom got our of school and got to spend several weeks in June in Canada.  While there we visited the incredibly beautiful Quebec City area, a few days in the Ottawa area and a week in the Toronto/Niagara Falls area. We attended and participated in the joint American/Canadian Library Association's Annual Conference.  Then we headed to Europe with our girls for three wonderful weeks.  After our return the girls went back to work and we journeyed to the Phoenix, Arizona area with Jim's mother Lorraine, his brother Allen and his wife Marsha where we visited Jim's brother Bob and his family. While there we stayed several days in Sedona and toured the Grand Canyon.
