“Have a Heart, Help A Child”
How Can You Help?
We need socks, underwear, pajamas, and winter coats for children and adults, board games, footballs and basketballs, Barbie doll clothes & accessories, hand held-electronic video games, VCR and DVD players, portable/headphone radios & cd players (Walkmans), and bicycles, with helmets, for ages 2-14. Other popular items are Hot Wheel cars & accessories, toy cars and trucks, and model kits.
Besides balls for any sports, baseball gloves and bats are good for the boys. Duffle bags for their athletic gear is helpful. Additionally, shirts or jerseys from sports teams are always popular.
Gloves/mittens and winter hats are always needed. For children of all ages.
Among the most difficult items to find at affordable prices are musical/play toys for infants and/or any toys for children under 3.
We try to give every child from age 4 up a personal hygiene kit, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, plus deodorant for the older kids and shaving equipment for the older boys.
Wallets, watches, books, and diaries/journals are given to older children as well. Cameras and film are good for the teenagers.
When we get requests from older children leaving the foster care program, we try to set them up with the basics for apartment living, such as dishes for 4, silverware, pans, kitchen utensils, drinking glasses, bed linens, pillows, alarm clocks. Toaster ovens would be excellent gifts for these kids.
Batteries of all sizes, wrapping paper (no bows), gift boxes of all sizes, and scotch tape are always needed.
And don't forget MONEY or Gift Certificates to the local mall, Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc… We take the money and buy some of the items listed above.
No candy or food can be given out.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Everything we give must be new and, once again, all donations are 100% tax deductible.
If you have any questions, we are just a phone call away and can pick up at any location.
