Mary Joe who is "from the Creek" gave Ruby Gillis a magic pebble that charms warts away. A person has "to rub the warts with pebble and then throw it away over your left shoulder at the time of the new moon and the warts would all go." "Young Mary Joe, a buxom, broad-faced French girl" is how LMM describes her when Minnie May Barry comes down with croup.
Chapter 18

Lily Jones
The five year old girl that Mrs. Spencer adopted at the same time Anne was sent to the Cuthberts. Anne says she is very beautiful, has "nut-brown hair."
Chapter 3

Victoria Island
It was an island "up the brook" that Anne and Diana found on the Queen's birthday. "There are two maple-trees on it and the brook flows right around it."
