I
was born in Fort Worth, TX, in 1968. During my short stay in the Metroplex,
I had the pleasure of watching the Texas Rangers during their first year
in Arlington (TX, not VA). Also, I used to admire the open fields across
the interstate from Six Flags over Texas. I believe there's a Wet 'N Wild
or something similar now. These are the major memories I have before I
was coerced into moving to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1973.
Again, there was lots of open
country between the Springs and the Air Force Academy during my term at
the base of the mountains. Some of the interesting thoughts I keep from
that time include the going aboard the Liberty Train as part of the Bicentennial
celebrations and also visiting the USAFA chapel, hearing recorded voices
coming from the ceiling and thinking the place was haunted.
In 1976, my family moved
once again, this time to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I spent the remainder
of my childhood. [My old high school marching band performed in the 1998
Tournament of Roses parade.] I spent my freshman year at Iowa State
University that I sometimes refer to as my year of purgatory, then transferred
to the University of Iowa at Iowa City, IA, from where I graduated in 1991
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science Education. I moved to
the Kansas City area in early 1995.
Currently, I live in Kansas
City, MO, and have been working since March 1997 as a contract technical
writer for Sprint.
I also have an online journal
that I update semi-regularly. Check it out at www.livejournal.com/users/skyflame. |
