"'Why do people say things like "If you see wrongdoing and take no action, you're as guilty as the wrongdoer'? Where is the logic in this?" M.L.G. Waxhaw, N.C.
Marilyn replied: "I can't find the logic, so this statement looks like one of those exaggerations that people repeat without thinking, such as: "If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem." Neither seems true to me. I'd reword your statement to say: "If you see wrongdoing and take no action, you're also guilty of wrongdoing."
Are we guilty of wrongdoing if we see it and take no action? Are we supposed to get involved in every situation we observe?
